Today, September 2nd, 2024 is a holiday in the US and an opportunity to capture the attention of time/space Turtle Lovers like myself. This story telling account is the follow up to the end of my turtle tracking of Lady Jayne, the Loggerhead Sea Turtle I tracked for over a year until her tracker failed for over a month. The Turtle Conservatory reported that her tracker had failed, not to return, most likely fallen off. As I reported in July, my disappointment was noted and I focused on other projects; however, I kept my FAHLO app active and occasionally would check in curious as to my substitute Sea Turtle, Tello. Before long Tello’s tracker was not reporting. Ok, keep moving forward.
Imagine my joy and excitement when some months later Lady Jayne began appearing again on my FAHLO app. How she would resurrect her tracking gear was not important for me to know, what mattered was again I could begin tracking her daily and as before she was traveling some Atlantic Ocean routes. Noted was how many more followers were on board and how she consistently traveled 20 – 25 miles overnight. Granted new software was reporting some additional facts. Here is what I viewed 8/31/24:
